A hotly-anticipated text editor is now open for business, we bid adieu to the second-generation iPhone, and turns out streaming digital music isn't bad for business. The remainders for Thursday, August 9, 2012 are open to suggestions.

Popular text editor TextMate 2 has been released under an open-source license on GitHub. This after the app was . Well, with all these additional people who will no doubt be working it, I'm sure it will get done much, much faster, right?

Is it the end of the line for the iPhone 3G? According to a programming blog, the older phone will no longer be supported by Apple's development tools. Of course, the 3G itself can't run anything later than iOS 4.2.1, and we're pretty sure it's still powered by shoveling coal into a very tiny furnace.
