has announced the launch of Crashplan Mobile, a companion backup app for iOS and Android.

The app is free for Crashplan+ subscribers and will let you access your backups so you can browse, download, view and share files. Common file types can be viewed directly within the apps or shared with other compatible apps.

When the file had been downloaded to your iOS or Android device, it can be quickly synchronised with the latest available online version with one touch, according to Code 42.

Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and CEO of Code 42 Software said: "I love our secure one-touch update; it allows me to update everything with a single tap, or selectively update key files if I'm over a limited connection. This is mile one on our mobile device journey, it's going to be a great trip."

Crashplan+ is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris and comes in three flavours - a 10GB version, costing from $1.50 (about £1) per month per computer, an Unlimited version which costs $3 (£2) per month per computer, or a Family Unlimited version which costs $6 (£4) per month per household.

The iOS version of the app is available from iTunes and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It requires iOS 4.2 or later. The Android version is in the and requires Android 2.1 or higher.
