Networx activity has grown in recent months. In January, less than 12% of the inventory items on FTS 2001 had been transitioned to Networx, GSA said. As of April 15, that number more than doubled to 26%, according to GSA.

In addition, several cabinet-level agencies -- including the Social Security Administration, Health and Human Services and State Department -- are evaluating bids and plan to make large Networx awards by this summer.

"Things have ramped up significantly...in the first half of this year," White says.

GSA says the next 12 months will be busy ones for Networx, as it expects agencies to complete 100% of their fair opportunity decisions within a year.

"We're confident we will be done by April 2010," says Mike Sade, Deputy Assistant Commissioner in the Office of Integrated Technology Services at GSA's Federal Acquisition Service. "By this time next year, all agencies will have commenced transition."
