Study: Positive Philippine image key to BPO growth

While declining English skills is often raised, a better image of the Philippines is foremost in the wish list of executives in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. (O2P), in cooperation with the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P), conducted a survey among executives of 40 companies from six sectors under BPO -- contact centers, software development, business process outsourcing, medical transcription, animation, and graphic design and engineering services.

Although poor English proficiency was cited as an impediment to growth, a good country image was noted as the most pressing need.
