On the question of what this new technology installation will mean for Telkom customers, Letlape's answer is: 'The Verso Customer Premises Gateways (CPGs) were only used for testing in the Telkom national network during the proof of concept of'the'WiMAX'technology. The intention is, however, to utilize the WiMAX integrated voice ports contained in the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) in future. As a stopgap, should Telkom decide to roll-out WiMAX equipment that does not have integrated voice ports on the CPE side, Verso might be one of the suppliers of the CPGs.'
