As I said, I've taken licence by considering the rail system to be part of public administration, but it was too good an opportunity to miss because it illustrates very well the potential difficulties that complex systems can present. From an efficiency perspective what happened today was costly and unproductive, from a customer service perspective it was a nightmare. These are just the opposite of what we expect from our government systems and services.
