The Advanced Services modules were announced last April under the name HiPath Wireless Manager Advanced, said Luc Roy, vice president of product planning and marketing at Siemens Communications, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based subsidiary of Siemens AG. Roy said that the earlier offering now has been split into separate products called HiGuard, for intrusion prevention, and HiGuard Reporting, for regulatory compliance.

In addition, Siemens Communications Monday is introducing Version 4 of its HiPath Wireless Convergence Software with support for intelligent traffic routing and quality-of-service capabilities for the company's WLAN controllers and access points, Roy said.
