Search the Web, Earn Prizes with Swag Bucks

Sure, Google is a nice search engine and all, but when was the last time it rewarded you for using it? I can see the t-shirt now: "I searched the Web with Google, and all I got were these awesome results."

, on the other hand, is a search service that pays off. By performing various activities -- searching the Web, installing a toolbar, printing grocery-store coupons, etc. -- you accumulate points you can redeem for merchandise, gift cards, and other goodies. I've been a user for about a year, and I'm a fan.

There are many ways to earn Swag Bucks (SB). If you install the for Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari, that earns you one SB per day. Use the Swag Bucks search engine (which combines results from Ask.com and Google) and you might hit a small jackpot (5 SB, 10, even 50) just by running a regular old search.

Other earning options include printing and redeeming grocery-store coupons, taking advantage of Groupon and LivingSocial deals, participating in polls, playing online games, completing online tasks, taking surveys, and even trading in an old old cell phone, MP3 player, or game console.

You also score extra SB by inviting friends (the site can import addresses from Gmail, Facebook, etc.) and using referral links and banners. (Confession: I used my own referral link up top. If you'd rather sign up without helping out your favorite hassle-solving blogger, that's cool: just head to the .)

The Swag Store is home to a wide variety of prizes. You can get a $10 Starbucks gift card for 1,300 SB, an 8GB iPod Touch for 23,000 SB, a Keurig single-cup coffee maker for 16,000 SB, and so on.
