No they're not starting some sort of Robin Hood crusade. What Google is doing, however, is shutting down Google Labs. Labs was a testing ground for new features and prototypes, and many of those will either be incorporated into other products or simply retired. Great. Like the economy isn't enough trouble without flooding the market with sad, unemployed Google Mad Scientists.
