- Version 2.0 of Eltima Software's download manager and torrent client adds automatic transfer of downloaded videos and music to iTunes playlists, the ability to subscribe to an RSS feed directly from Folx and download attached files, and automatic tag assignment for download tasks. Free; $20 Pro version adds torrent search, download scheduler, up to 10 threads download splitting, iTunes integration, and automatic RSS attachment downloading.

- The photo-sharing site has launched its own iPad app, allowing users to browse photos, create a slideshow using music from their iTunes library, and share photos on Twitter, Tumblr, FaceBook, or via email. Those with 500px accounts can log in and see photos from their own stream, as well as their favorites and their friends' photos. Free.

- Version 3.8.6 of the Safari Extension for AgileBits's password management app merges the Logins for This Site and All Logins panels, changes the behavior of the AutoSave bar so it doesn't cover the page, enhances the in-browser editing of items, and features a bunch of other improvements for filling in Credit Cards, Logins, and Identities. Available as part of the $50 1Password 3.8.6.

- Smile has updated its venerable Mac typing expansion tool to version 3.3.4, with improved Dropbox syncing, better interface display, cooperation with input methods, and other bug fixes and enhancements. $35; five-user family pack $45; five-user office pack $100; upgrade from earlier version $15.

- Flexibits has updated its menu bar calendar utility to version 1.1, adding the ability to edit and delete calendar events right from the app, as well as support for notes while creating new events or editing existing events. There's also support for iCloud calendars, and a number of bugfixes and improvements. $20.
