Arbor enhances security appliance

Arbor Networks Inc. has added network behavioral analysis features to its Arbor Peakflow anomaly detection security appliance. The new features include enhanced router and interface support and risk indexing, according to Lexington, Mass.-based Arbor Networks. Arbor Peakflow X 3.6 is available now. Pricing starts at US$30,000.

Microsoft BI offering due for '07 release

Microsoft Corp. announced Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007, business intelligence software that's designed to support business performance functions such as scorecarding, analytics and business planning. A beta version will be available this fall, and the final product is expected by mid-2007.

IBM Rational updates platform

IBM last week unveiled IBM Rational Software Development Platform 7, which includes 11 updated products and IBM Rational BuildForge 7, a code development tool that IBM acquired when it purchased BuildForge Inc. last month. Among other things, the tools are designed to track activities throughout the application development life cycle. Pricing is the same as it was for Version 6. The tools are available now.
