New Zealand software finds home in Botswana

Technology from New Zealand financial management software provider Greentree is being used in Botswana.

Gallery Gold, a Perth-based mining company, is using Greentree's product at its Mupane mine in the African country.

The Web-based product, which is built on the Jade platform and designed to integrate into Microsoft environments, has been installed at the Mupane site for just over a year.

Andy Thomson, commercial manager at the mine, says Greentree, which replaced a general ledger system from Pastel Accounting and an in-house built payroll system, has provided advantages in terms of access to data and reporting.

"One benefit is the global, real-time access to data," he says.

"Another is the Excel interactive reporting tool which allows generic publishable reports to be made available throughout the organization."
