In more good news for , Consumer Reports today said that the device is now the top-rated tablet on the market. Among other things, Consumer Reports said the new iPad provided "the best rendering of detail and color accuracy we've ever seen on a tablet display" and remarked that the new device's performance was "superb in virtually every other way as well." Consumer Reports also had praise for Verizon's LTE network for delivering "very fast, dependable connectivity" on the new iPad.

Consumer Reports' recommendation is particularly significant since that publication was the first to perform tests showing that the new iPad could run as high as 116 degrees Fahrenheit if used intensively for 45 minutes. Consumer Reports also caused a minor headache for Apple back in 2010 when it said that it could not recommend the 4 due to its well-publicized design flaws where users would find their reception cut off if they gripped the device on its lower left-hand side.

Apple's new iPad has garnered critical praise ever since its release last month, as critics have gushed about its Retina display that features an industry-best tablet screen resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The new device also features Apple new A5X chip that delivers dual-core CPU processing and quad-re GPU graphics processing. The new iPad is also the first Apple device to come with LTE connectivity.
