iPhone 5 goes up for pre-order

hasn't announced the , if that's what it will be called, but pre-orders are being taken for the smartphone in China.

Sellers on Chinese website Taobao are offering the illustrious device prices well over $1,000 complete with images and supposed specifications. Unsurprisingly the sellers do not promise when the phone will arrive. See also: .

According to the sellers plan to purchase an iPhone 5 in the US or Hong Kong when it goes on sale and bring it back to China. It is thought that Apple will announce the iPhone 5 later this year with , possibly in September.

Despite being potentially months away from launch an overwhelming amount of detail has been leaked and rumoured. One listing on Taobao claims the iPhone 5 will have a 3.4in screen with an 800 x 1280 resolution. However a lot of rumours have said the iPhone 4S follow-up will have a larger screen, between 4in and 5in.

Some listings use the in 3D modelling software.

All eyes are on Apple awaiting the iPhone 5 launch which will take on flagship Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3.
