Flight of fantasy

While users are waiting for the resource-mapping capabilities of SRM products to mature, they might want to fantasize about what may happen in the future like eBay's Strong.

"In a Utopian world, I would have service levels associated with eBay's site, and when a service level was not being met for some reason, my management application would sit there and say it needs another 10TB of Class A storage to meet the service levels. It would then give it to a certain database without people being involved," Strong says. "That's what I want to see."
