This year's business-oriented theme is "Value Creation in an Information-Based Economy." Paul Chow, chairperson for HKICC 2005, said that IT has become such an essential business tool that business organizations must delineate their IT needs to effectively compete and grow in a highly competitive marketplace. "IT professionals must strive to achieve return on investment and bring greater efficiency, productivity and profitability to our organizations."

Lee said that the key requirements of participants is to receive objective insight into the key IT challenges that they face and vertically focused experience. "Executives want what is relevant to their own business," said Lee, "be it finance, logistics or government."
