GlobeQuest, a business unit of Innove Communications, brought back to the Ayala Group the CNG data center, which was previously fully owned by the Ayalas and known as the Ayalaport Data Center.

After CNG's closure on July 21 this year, GlobeQuest took over the operations of the data centers, said Jesus Romero, GlobeQuest head.

The acquisition has further expanded GlobeQuest's data center capabilities. The expansion is being driven by the increasing demand for hosting services and high-capacity network access as well as the company's increasing foray into the enterprise market. The data centers are also being aimed at helping local companies who are looking to become more globally competitive.

Data centers, like GlobeQuest's, are secured and controlled environments where enterprises can outsource their IT facilities for their day-to-day operations or use them as a backup facility. It provides a one-stop shop facility to enterprises to support all their ICT needs.

'As of the moment, the data center business in the country is picking up. The industry is expected to grow rapidly since more and more customers are increasingly becoming open and willing to submit their businesses to all forms of outsourcing to keep IT-related costs under control. We want to be ready for them,' said Romero.
