However, apart from developing youth skills in mobile telephony and thus creating several jobs, rLG will also use the opportunity to expand the market for its mobile phones.

"Upon the roll out of the project," the statement added, "the company shall commence the construction of US$20 million assembly plant in Osun State and other offices in Lagos State to commence full commercial activities within the shortest possible time."

Formerly known as Roagam Links, rLG Communications is the first privately owned company in the region that has embarked on a youth training program for mobile-phone servicing, repair, assembling and sales. It recently opened Ghana's first high-tech laptop and mobile assembly plant.
