Gamescom: Could Sound Shapes be Vita's Killer App?

Then come the objects and hazards, each of which have both a gameplay and a musical function. Laser beams kill the player, but also make kick and snare drum sounds -- the exact rhythm of which the player can define by recording a tapped rhythm on the touch screen.

"Gamers who think they're not musicians can make music," said the team from Queasy Games, demonstrating the title. "And musicians who don't know about game design can make excellent levels."

Sound Shapes doesn't have a release date yet -- the team isn't even sure if it's going to be a retail or downloadable title -- but it's aiming to be a Vita launch game.
