Dark Void film rights purchased, Brad Pitt rumored to star

On the Hollywood slate, Reliance BIG Pictures has partnered with Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider on the formation of DreamWorks Studios and has development silos with Nicolas Cage's Saturn Films, Jim Carrey's JC 23 Entertainment, George Clooney's Smokehouse Productions, Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures, Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions, Jay Roach's Everyman Pictures, Brett Ratner's Rat Entertainment and Julia Roberts' Red Om Films.

Plan B Entertainment is actor/producer Brad Pitt's production company which has produced films such as the Oscar-Winning The Departed, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, A Mighty Heart, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Plan B is currently in production on Liz Gilbert's best-selling book Eat, Pray, Love, which is written and directed by Ryan Murphy and stars Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem, and James Franco for Sony. The company is in post-production on Terence Malick's The Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn to be released by Bob Berney & Bill Pohlad's new distribution arm Apparition; Rebecca Miller's The Private Lives of Pippa Lee which will be released later this month by Screen Media; and Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, which will be executive produced by Pitt and released by Lionsgate next April. This summer, Plan B's The Time Traveler's Wife, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana was released by Warner Brothers.

Plan B's upcoming projects involve a number of adaptations, including the thriller World War Z, based on Max Brooks' best-selling book, to be directed by Marc Forster; the action-adventure The Lost City of Z, based on David Grann's best-selling novel to be written and directed by James Gray; the action film The Killer and the sci-fi horror film Black Hole, both of which are based on comic books and developed for David Fincher to direct; and a screen adaptation of Beautiful Boy and Tweak, two non-fiction best-sellers that detail a young man's drug addiction as seen from his father's and his own perspective.
