In addition to implementing the software for streaming video on ontv, Oriental Press Group selected Adobe Flash Media Server software to enhance its on.cc online offering by including video encoding and streaming capabilities. The on.cc IT team enjoys easy installation and operation, while content producers and creative designers have benefited from a shortened learning cycle.

"News and entertainment delivery in the 21st century will increasingly be found online. Web-based content, such as news and information programmes, can be significantly more interactive and informative than traditional TV broadcasts," said Will Hwang, country manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan at Adobe.

As the next phase of its expansion, ontv plans to further enhance its online video offering by adding improved interactivity for more sophisticated users. This in turn will allow Oriental Press Group to strengthen the company's position as Hong Kong's leading multimedia content provider.
