Last week the ICT Industry Workgroup, on behalf of the Queensland ICT industry, met with the state government to ratify several improvements in the "whole of government" procurement process.

The government accepted recommendations such as clarification of which agencies are bound by whole-of-government procurement policy and the development of new initiatives to support SME participation in government ICT procurement processes.

Chris Cummins, Minister for Small Business, Information Technology and Multicultural Affairs, said these initiatives will see marked improvements for small, Queensland-based ICT companies conducting business with government agencies.
