Apple's In-Ear Headphones finally out—well, almost

You might be forgiven for not remembering the that Apple announced during its , alongside the and . The US$79 add-on, which Apple describes as "engineered for superior acoustic accuracy, balance, and clarity" was supposed to be available in October, but only on Tuesday did Apple finally advertise on its home page that the headphones are "now shipping."

Of course, Apple's definition of shipping may not square with yours, as the showed availability at seven to 10 business days at the time this story was posted. And under the product description, you'll still find the words "coming soon."

The new Apple In-Ear Headphones have two drivers per earpiece, come with three sets of silicone ear tips, and include a microphone and buttons for controlling music and video playback (like with the included iPhone headphones) and volume adjustments. However, the remote and mic (which also lets you record voice memos) are supported only by the fourth-generation iPod nano, the 120GB iPod classic, and the second-generation iPod touch.
