ACMA to host Australia's first spectrum mgmt. event

16.11.2006
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) will hold its first annual conference on spectrum management next month.

Dubbed RadComms 2006, the event will be held at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney on December 11-12, 2006.

General manager of ACMA's inputs to industry division, Giles Tanner, said the event will focus on the future.

"We are starting to look at how the radio communications industry will be using spectrum in 10 to 20 years time," Tanner said.

"The conference will also allow spectrum users, current and prospective, to meet with ACMA to share ideas on how Australia's radio frequency spectrum should be planned moving forward."

Conference topics include digital radio, satellite spectrum planning issues, the digital dividend, television spectrum in the next decade and municipal broadband wireless access.
