Western Cape gets licence management solution

Enterprise Connection (EC) was recently awarded a contract to provide its software licence management solution to the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (PGWC) in South Africa.

EC's account manager, Faiza Brown, says that the company won the contract because of its commitment to its LicenseRight methodology, a software asset management solution which identifies exact licensing requirements while developing the most cost-effective solution to meet those requirements.

LicenseRight is designed to use copyright compliance best practices to eliminate the liability associated with software licensing management. It has been approved by the Business Software Alliance, and the audit procedures have been verified by Deloitte and Touch'.

The challenge of servicing dispersed networks and multiple engagement points will be met through the deployment of multiple resources on the account, constant engagement with PGWC role-players at all levels, and project management with predefined SLAs, says Brown. The project involves more than ten thousand end-users across all departments of the provincial government.

"EC made a strong commitment to the methodology in terms of providing software review audits, running regular workshops and updates for key role-players, and educating individual software users through ongoing training," Brown concludes.
