Now, I'm not denying that there aren't for the system, but after having to deal with a 3DS that I can barely take outside of my living room without needing to charge it again, the prospect of another handheld system that might not last throughout the day (with off-and-on gaming sessions) is an incredible turn-off.

In addition, the system "will ship with a USB cable, AC adaptor and power chord." Apparently memory cards will (as with most Sony products) be sold separately. Still, there's a chance that it might come packaged with a completely useless 1GB one.

I haven't dismissed the Vita as a day-one purchase yet...but it looks like it's going to be a tough decision.
