Toshiba Corp. is seeking a public retraction from Environment Victoria, which criticised the vendor"s environmental policy.

Toshiba claims that Environment Victoria gave it insufficient time to provide the required information on its environmental policies and procedures.

"Our records show that we were given less than a couple of business days to respond to Environment Victoria"s request for information before it published its report," Mark Whittard, general manager of Toshiba ISD Australia, said in a press statement.

"Given notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond, we would have provided our environmental management policies. However, as we were unable to provide information within this unreasonable timeframe, the study does not represent Toshiba ISD correctly," he said.

"The study"s methodology is flawed and we are determined to have Environment Victoria"s misrepresentations fully redressed."
