SpectorSoft unveils net monitoring tool

Spector 360, an application that allows companies to see a wide range of online employee habits and behaviors, is now available from Internet monitoring and surveillance vendor SpectorSoft Corp. The product has 50 built-in reports and customization features. It allows companies to analyze in detailed reports -- along with screenshots -- what their employees are doing on the Internet, including inappropriate conduct, time spent surfing, content being searched for, highest and lowest productivity, and longest gaps in Internet usage, according to the Vero Beach, Fla.-based company. A 50-client license starts at US$1,995.

Mediasurface updates content app

Mediasurface PLC has launched Version 5.4 of its Morello content management application. The product features new drag-and-drop functionality and content-tracking capabilities. Morello V5.4 uses Asynchronous Java-Script and XML technology to access the Morello Web Client application, which gives Morello 5.4 the same usability and accessibility functions already included in the company's flagship browser-based Smart Client application, according to the Newbury, England-based content management vendor. Morello, which also includes a taxonomy browser and new right-click in-context menus, is sold on a per-CPU license basis. It is priced from $200,000 to $1 million.

Alcatel offers OmniPCX Office 5.0

Paris-based telecommunications products vendor Alcatel last week announced the general availability of the OmniPCX Office 5.0. The new release is a communications server for small and midsize businesses. This version includes a PC-based attendant console and voice-over-wireless-LAN capability, according to the company. Pricing was not released.
