Punch-Out leak: multiplayer mode and another classic boxer

23.03.2009
On Friday, Nintendo's European press site was updated with details of the company's upcoming franchise revival, . While it has since been taken down, a few sites, like , have reprinted the removed press releases in their entirety. While the two press releases are filled with typical PR fluff, a few hard details have emerged, with the addition of multiplayer chief among them, something we've been quite some time.

In the releases, a few details about multiplayer mode were revealed. It seems as though the bouts will only feature the game's smallest pugilist, as the mention of a Giga Mac gauge makes it seem like the only fighter will be Little Mac. This gauge seems to be exclusive to the two-player mode, which should play like the single-player mode in almost every other respect. Speaking of single player, another classic fighter that we'll probably be touching gloves with is Don , the rose-toting Spanish skinnyman. The release revealed there will be 13 different fighters in Punch-Out, 1 more than the original NES title, and 3 less than Super-Punch Out. There better not be any then.
