Google News launched in Singapore

The Internet giant Google launched Google News in Singapore on Wednesday 14 Jan--making it the 56th regional edition of Google News available in 20 different languages.

According to the internet company, this service encompasses bringing about 2.7 million Singaporean Internet users the latest news from more than 4,500 English-language sources, including a wide range of Singaporean media outlets.

Google News for Singapore is available at http://news.google.com.sg.

"There is a diverse range of Singapore-related stories from thousands of news sources found on Google News Singapore," said a Google representative. " For example, the Singapore-related stories on 14 Jan came from top-tier Singaporean media--such as AsiaOne, Channel NewsAsia, Straits Times, TODAY--as well as overseas and niche media--such as Reuters, Malaysia Star, The Irrawaddy News, The Asia Pacific Post, Yorke Peninsula Country Times, Defpro, and Media."
