Filipino startups make IT work for small firms

The World Bank has allotted some $3 million for 30 more grantees although these are short-term and good for about a year, said Vivek Chaudry, infoDev's program administrator, who visited the country recently to attend a workshop on infoDev sponsored by Ayala Corp.

There are no proposals from the Philippines, however, that qualified for the next batch of grantees. Aside from the World Bank, Chaudry said various governments such as Japan and Finland also donate grants under the infoDev program.
