Study: Positive Philippine image key to BPO growth

30.06.2006

The survey indicated that 85 percent of respondents believe that the Philippines should improve on overall country image to sustain clients and gain more clients, while 80 percent said the country needs political stability, and 55 percent pointed out a need to improve on English proficiency.

Consequently, 38 percent of respondents cited advancement on technical expertise, scalability 30 percent and improved telecom infrastructure only at 15 percent, while others cited improved governance, physical infrastructure and peace and order.

'It is noteworthy that improving overall country image and political stability are the top issues when it comes to areas of improvement for the Philippines, and significantly more so than improving English proficiency,' said Michael Alan Hamlin, director of O2P.
