SAP exec says company has the right strategy

What about SAP's plans for online CRM? What we'll be doing is providing a CRM on-demand solution where the customer can act immediately but grow strategically. Anything we do will be built on an architecture that provides true business-process CRM. If you ask any Salesforce.com customer what they like about it, it's that Salesforce.com is good because it comes out of the box pretty quickly and is affordable. What they don't like is that it doesn't integrate with back-office systems and processes. I'm very confident [the release of SAP's hosted CRM] will happen in 30 days.

What about the rivalry with Oracle? Everyone is missing the real point. Where is Oracle headed in business software? What happened to its core business? Why isn't anybody talking about that? They took a successful database business and made a risky foray into applications. They took their eye off the ball, and IBM and Microsoft are making huge inroads on them. I'm unaware of anyone winning a three-way war.
