Remains of the Day: Calm before the storm

11.01.2011
It was a quiet Monday--too quiet, if you ask me. But don't worry, there's a storm coming, and it's not just the 10 to 12 inches of snow about to drop on my hometown. There's a Verizon iPhone potentially in the offing, a very busy Steve Jobs, and a hurricane of Mac App Store sales. The remainders for Monday, January 10, 2011 are feeling a little harried.

The jury's still out on whether or not Verizon will get the iPhone on Tuesday, but Big Red isn't scared of the possibility, no-siree-bob. Verizon Wireless CTO Anthony Melone told BusinessWeek, "We will handle it if we ever get it." Added Melone, "**likesaytomorrow**."

January's a busy month for Apple. There was , the maybe Verizon iPhone, and now Yahoo News is reporting that Steve Jobs will show up alongside Rupert Murdoch to announce News Corp.'s iPad newspaper--The Daily--at an event on January 19. After which we're sure Jobs will take it easy in February by, oh, performing a high-wire act with Cirque du Soleil or something equally low key.
