Philippine gov't pushes for IPv6 adoption

InfoWeapons, for its part, will shortly be getting its IPv6 service from PLDT as their first commercial customer, said Hughes. The company is apparently getting their service 'tunneled' over IPv4 and is looking forward to finally getting direct IPv6 service. 'We are working with PLDT to make this happen smoothly,' said Hughes.

Not migrating to IPv6 does not pose a risk to businesses, but companies are being urged to consider the long-term impact not only on the technology side but on the business side as well.

'IPv6 adoption is not a priority right now among companies because there's no business risk if you don't adopt it, it's just that there are some things you can't do without it; it will be more of a competitive advantage for a company,' agreed Villorente.
