'If we can make it here in Camiguin, we can make it anywhere," Garcia stressed. "Next month, we're targeting Batanes and Tawi-Tawi. We want to bring it first to areas where people are deprived of GSIS services.'

The G-W@PS kiosks string four independent users -- the GSIS member, the government agency where the member is employed, GSIS , and the bank

Using the kiosk, a member can file a loan online and from this transaction GSIS can decide whether the member is qualified for the applied loan. Once the loan is approved, GSIS can remit the fund through banking partner UnionBank

GSIS will also inform the member via SMS once the money has been successfully remitted.

GSIS is looking to install 1000 kiosks by next year and targets to have at least 8,000 kiosks in all in three years. Each kiosk costs about P70, 000 (US$1,408) to install.
