By next year, GSIS will update their members' existing eCards to incorporate an RFID chip compatible with the kiosk.

The updated card, called the eCard Plus, will contain all pertinent information about a member, and the permissible amount for loan transactions. Members can also use their eCards to withdraw money from Bancnet, Megalink, Expressnet, and Plus (international) network.

Expansion Plans

From now until year-end, GSIS is deploying three trial kiosks to debug the system and check for possible glitches.

The first deployment is in Camiguin Island, where GSIS has 1700 members. Garcia said that GSIS selected Camiguin as the first trial site because they want the island deployment to be their strongest statement.
