Microsoft even partners with one of these new vendors, NewsGator, which provides an enterprise social-networking component to SharePoint Server.

Enterprise social-networking and collaboration products such as SBS typically provide online collaborative spaces where employees can jointly annotate and edit documents, post comments and receive automated alerts about colleagues' actions.
