Google engineer, Adobe squabble over Flash bug credit

Like , Adobe doesn't rate flaws with a set threat scoring system. Instead, it uses the phrase "could lead to remote code execution" to tag vulnerabilities that if successfully exploited, could let hackers plant malware on the computer or device.

Adobe credited 10 different researchers for reporting as many vulnerabilities.

Adobe updated the Windows, Mac OS X, and Solaris versions of Flash Player, as well as the edition, on Tuesday. Several times in the past, Adobe has had to spread out the releases for various platforms over several days or even weeks.

Also patched Tuesday: Flash Media Server, Photoshop CSS, RoboHelp and Shockwave Player. The Shockwave refresh addressed seven vulnerabilities, while the remaining three updates patched one bug each.

The patched versions of and the other programs can be downloaded from Adobe's Web site. Alternately, users can run Flash's update tool or wait for the software to prompt them that a new version is available.
