Cisco Systems appoints new exec for South Africa

09.02.2006
Cisco Systems has announced the appointment of Dr. Clive Fynn as GM for SA, with effect from 1 Feb. 1.

Fynn's appointment comes at a time which has seen Cisco produce its best results since entering the country in 1994.

According to Mark de Simone, vice-president responsible for Cisco Systems in the Middle East and Africa, Fynn's global credentials, coupled with his regional experience and local insights, make him the ideal candidate.

Fynn boasts many years of working experience, having served in managerial capacities at companies such as IBM Global Services, Siemens Business Services and Waymark Infotech.

In addition, he currently serves as an independent board member on the Nation's Trust Youth Enterprise Company -- partly owned by the SA Government and the Umsombomvu Youth Fund -- and numerous local industrial companies.

'Clive's appointment follows an exhaustive selection process, which included interviews with many other top-level candidates,' De Simone adds.
