Microsoft's senior producer Kevin Unangst is keen to set core gamers' minds at rest: more Kinect titles to cater to the "hardcore" audience are on the way, with Child of Eden merely the tip of the iceberg.
"There are many [hardcore games] coming," Unangst commented to CVG at Microsoft's spring showcase earlier this month. "We've got Child of Eden, we've got Twisted Pixel's Gunstringer... and certainly you're going to see more."
Unangst is keen to ensure that Kinect support isn't just a gimmick, though. He wants it to be an "organic and natural" part of the game.
"We did not go out and say 'we're just going to slap Kinect on and put that out there'," he said. "We don't want a bunch of add-ons -- it's got to make sense in light of the game."
Good news for anyone fearful that "Enhanced with Kinect" titles will be gimmicky hand-waving experiences, hopefully. Unangst pointed out that there's more to Kinect than just controller-free waggling, despite what people might think:
