Sources: E3 2009 may open doors to 'wider audience'

22.10.2008

Update on that last paragraph: Newsweek's and the folks at are all reporting that there will not be "public days" coming to E3, like you see at the Tokyo Game Show. On the other hand, the notorious E3 booth babe ban is also reportedly in limbo as well. Stay tuned.

ESA allegedly hopes to accomplish this goal by allowing even more "enthusiastic" press into the event. This potentially means anyone with a blog (get your Wordpress accounts set up... NOW!) into the show. The invite-only policy of the past two years will, in effect, become a bad memory.

So it's still not the public E3 that many gaming veterans remember, and yearn for, but it's a start. It's also a rumor.
