Sales guy: "Please see the message below on the memory. Cisco will not support this solution so we want to be very upfront before starting the professional services about the problems that might occur and how we will need to handle that if we experience these issues in terms of billing.

"Please let me know if we need to jump on a conference call to discuss in more detail."

Regional director: "We cannot support the box with Commodore 64 memory in there. We will work on it, provided it meets the flash and memory requirements that we specified. However, if anything goes wrong relating to the memory, client will be billed for time over and above the installation price. If we need to adjust the Statement of Work accordingly, we can.

"If third-party memory is installed in the box and there is a problem that is called into the hardware vendor's technical assistance center, they will ask for the third-party memory to be removed and replaced.

"We just need to know which direction they're going with the memory so we can prepare accordingly."
