Satisfaction with US government sites inches upward

19.12.2005

The U.S. General Services Administration's main Web site is one that received several incremental updates based on user feedback, according to the report. In just one year, the site's satisfaction score rose by over 20 percent, and this quarter's score is three points higher than last quarter, according to the ACSI.

In addition, 18 percent of the 89 sites surveyed scored 80 or better. Last year, only 13 percent of the 54 e-government sites scored at least 80, according to the report. At the other end of the spectrum, 21 percent of the government Web sites scored below 70 this quarter, which indicates that those agencies are having a harder time bringing their information and operations online. In part, this is because those agencies don't have the resources to implement changes that will boost user satisfaction, the report said.
