While it's not at the level of 's first month sales of over 3 million, it's still more than enough to win the month by a large margin. The Beatles: Rock Band, released a week after Guitar Hero 5, was still able to beat its music-game competitor despite boasts to the contrary from Activision (via ), as well as promised with purchase. The PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum flipped the script on the , which outsold it in August, most likely due to the large influx of new PS3 owners during September.
