According to De Jesus, there are currently around 200 SKYinternet VOIP subscribers and added, 'We are still working on creating the right package.'

De Jesus believes that, although big businesses will obviously be the earlier adopters of VOIP, even micro-businesses will quickly see the benefit of this technology because of the minimum investment required.

To avail of Bayantel's service, the user pays P2,999 (US$56) for a VOIP router and a succeeding fee of about P500 a month. According to De Jesus, the service works with regular analog phones so there is no need to purchase IP phones.
