ApplTop Solutions' software is aimed at embedded productivity and compliance applications for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) aimed at easing compliance and governance challenges, including data auditing and security, and application enhancements.

The productivity suite can also help with issues surrounding the extension of Oracle EBS, from building application extensions, to reporting front-ends and ad-hoc querying, company officials said.

Craig O'Neill, ApplTop Solutions CEO, said the company is very excited about entering the free and open source world, because the Oracle EBS user base "deserves" access to these solutions to help them improve their applications.

"Ensuring any business has access to our solutions if they so wish is our principal objective with this strategy and we expect the up-take to be high," O'Neill said.

"Many vendors in this field exclude the user base by incessantly increasing costs with a tendency to 'cash-in' on the latest 'big-thing' or trend."
