With the evolution of globalization much more profound on post-recession, employee retention will be one of the biggest challenges in 2011. Turnover will be driven by a shortage of high-demand talent, business critical skills as well as burnout.

2011 also see a significant upward trend in social media usage for talent acquisition as it has proven to be a cost effective tool for sourcing talent. As a young Gen Y workforce make up over 50% of its talent pool in Asia, social media officers will become more mainstream HR practitioners to reach out to employees and monitor the company social culture.
