Miyamoto talks DLC, economy, peripheral competition

"I believe that any sort of changes to interface that allows people to get into games and enjoy games is a great trend.

One of the challenges is not just to create a natural controller, but how do you get it into the hands of the people? How do you do that cost effectively? And I think we've accomplished that.

We have sold millions of controllers at a good price point. And we have that delivery system successfully already implemented. For other companies starting from zero and trying to figure out how to get it out there at a decent price point is a big challenge."

He's got a point, as Microsoft and Sony still have plenty of catching up to do when compared with Nintendo's sales. But, will the new motion-controllers catch on as successfully as the Wii? Time will tell and if the economy has anything to say about it, it could be a sink or swim situation for all. Miyamoto is optimistic however, saying:

"...if you want something bad enough, you're going to save your money for it, right? And if you're flush with cash but you don't want something, you're not going to use that cash.
