Does an ounce or two really matter? I think it does when you're using a tablet for extended periods. Most users probably wouldn't detect a significant weight difference between the Nook Tablet, Kobo Vox, and Kindle Fire--after all, a half-ounce separates the three. Bu they might find the Nexus 7 noticeably lighter than, say, the Fire.

The is rumored to arrive as early as next month, but there's no word yet on its heftiness. Will the new Fire challenge the Nexus 7 for the featherweight crown?
